Surface-mounted downlights attach directly to the ceiling surface, with no false ceiling required. They're the ideal solution for exposed concrete ceilings, rooms with limited ceiling depth, and spaces where a bold lighting fixture is part of the design statement.
When to Choose Surface-Mounted
If your space has a concrete or exposed ceiling, a very low false ceiling without room for recessed fixtures, or if you simply prefer the look of a visible fixture. Surface-mounted downlights are also popular in industrial and loft-style interiors where exposed services are part of the aesthetic.
Styles & Finishes
Our range includes cylindrical, square, and ultra-slim profiles in matte white, matte black, and metallic finishes. Some models feature adjustable heads for directional lighting. Heights range from 50mm to 150mm depending on the model.
Performance
Surface-mounted downlights deliver the same optical performance as their recessed equivalents: same beam angles, colour temperatures, and CRI ratings. The main difference is aesthetic: the fixture body is visible below the ceiling.
Installation
Installation is straightforward. The fixture base is screwed directly to the ceiling with the electrical connection behind. No ceiling void required. This makes them a practical retrofit option for existing spaces without false ceilings.
